The MSA 161 T is a lightweight and powerful battery-powered top-handle chainsaw with a low weight of 2.5 kg (without battery), making it the ideal choice for fine, precise cuts when working in the canopy. Features a 40% higher chain speed and 15% increase in motor performance over its predecessor, the MSA 160 T.

A low profile, ¼ P chain reduces chain chatter gives a smooth and precise finish. Fitted with a trigger side-lock button for added safety, a large throttle interlock lever and carrying ring for attaching the saw for aerial use. Thanks to battery power, it is quiet in operation meaning ear defenders are not required while working and work can begin early in noise sensitive areas.

Like most AP System tools, the MSA 161 T is IPX4 rated meaning it can be used in all types of weather conditions. With a fully charged recommended AP 200 S battery, the MSA 161 T has a working time of up to 42 minutes. The AP 200 S battery provides the best balance to weight ratio for the MSA 161 T. For longer working times, you can use the AP 300 S or AP 500 S battery - although this will affect the balance.

• Side chain tensioner: The tensioning screw can be found on the side of the chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.
• QuickStop Super Chain Brake: The additional braking system for extra safety. Users can trigger the chain brake directly at the rear handle. The chain stops in seconds whenever the user lets go of the rear handle and whenever there is sufficiently strong kickback or when the front hand guard is activated. This unique safety feature ensures even more user protection in all working positions.
• STIHL Electric Motor:  The STIHL electric motor (EC) is extremely energy efficient, lightweight and compact. It runs quietly, generates very low vibrations and does not require
